This is the location for the Spencer Love Tennis Center, which shares a parking area with Jaycee Park. If you drive past the tennis center to the back of the lot, you will see the Jaycee Park gate where the group gathers.

There are also restrooms and water points available throughout the routes.

A year ago, I was asked, “Do you want to go for a hike?” At the time, I thought of it simply as a great way to get out of the house. Looking back, I now realize how profound that question was and how much it has impacted my life.
Because of the positive effect these hikes have had on me and several other veterans, we feel led to build this into a community and a movement. Our goal is to foster camaraderie and remind one another that we are not alone in our struggles. As Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”
We have named our group Triad Rally Point. We hike on Saturdays to enjoy each other’s company through light physical activity and meaningful conversation. Our intent is to bond, glorify God, and recognize the sacrifices we have all made to serve our country and community.

Mike Molson, co-chair of Triad Rally Point

Mike Molson enlisted in the US Army Reserve as a medic at 17 years of age. Not having had the full Army experience, Mike went on Active Duty in May 2001, two years later. Shortly after, the attacks on September 11th occurred, and his unit deployed to Afghanistan. While there, Mike felt the first tinges of reality with the loss of some of his brothers and a close call, which he now understands as God’s divine protection.

After returning from Afghanistan, Mike had a mercifully uneventful deployment to Iraq the
The following year. Mike finished his contract the following year after that and returned to the civilian world. After getting out, Mike was called to public safety and has been there ever since.

A few years later, Mike was saved by the mercy of Jesus Christ. Mike grew up in a church-going family, but he never fully understood what Jesus’ sacrifice meant. In developing this relationship with Jesus, he began to understand the full extent of what I had missed growing up. Mike’s been through many ups and many downs in his life, but Jesus has been the constant rock. I feel a conviction to do more for those who serve this country and community. Mike hopes, with my brothers in Christ, to develop this calling.

Aaron Campbell, Chair Triad Rally Point

Aaron Campbell is a proud Alaskan who served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. Aaron deployed eight times, five of which were combat deployments: three in Afghanistan and two in Iraq.

Aaron, like many of his fellow brothers and sisters, has suffered from the trauma of combat and also, like many of them, tried to deal with my issues on my own and failed. Aaron didn’t account for the fact that, when he got out of the Marines, the strength, resilience, and purpose he had were lost when he took off his uniform and left the organization he loved so much. Aaron wasted several years fighting a battle that he could never win on my own, and then something profound and life-changing happened. Aaron started hanging out with others who had been through similar experiences.

Aaron started going to church, and he got sober.  Aaron felt hope instead of hopelessness. Aaron is living proof that no matter how lost you are, you can be redeemed. Aaron began the most important relationship he will ever have: with Lord Jesus Christ. Aaron was saved and baptized. Through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, my life has changed for the better in every imaginable way. Aaron’s purpose is to glorify God, and he thinks the best way to do that is to help warriors who are lost and seeking something meaningful, just as he was. With the support of his wife, daughters, family, and friends, and knowing who Aaron serves, I have purpose, pride, and belief again.

Semper Fidelis and God bless!
