Good Tuesday (Sept 22, 2026) morning to you all. This past week was a busy week at Life and for Got Your Six. The two-day Annual Wild Game Dinner took place Monday and Tuesday night with a sold-out crowd each night. Great Speaker, Great Food, and Great Fellowship. We had six individuals sign up to be a part of Got Your Six.

On Thursday night we held our monthly GY6 meeting. 61 people were in attendance. Linda Ellis shared information about Wreaths Across America. A National program to place Christmas Wreaths on the graves of Veterans during the Christmas Season. It’s really easy to sign up to purchase a wreath for a veteran. The hard part is getting the word out to your friends and family.
Postcards with the QR code are available to hand out. We will participate in the wreath-laying in December at our very own Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. This means we don’t have to travel to another city; we can do it right here in Greensboro. Guilford Memorial Park has over 3000 Veterans buried there.
Retired Rockingham County Sheriff and State Senator Candidate was our Guest Speaker. He did a great job. Air Force Veteran, Law Enforcement Career, and a follower of Christ, along with being a member of Got Your Six!! Prayers for Sam as he continues in his campaign.
Tomorrow night is the 3rd Triad Honor Flight and the final one for 2026. One of our Got Your Six members, Ms. Dixie Olsen, will be on that flight. Hope you can join us at PTI tomorrow night around 7:30 to welcome home Dixie and the other Veterans. If you have never attended one of these, it’s absolutely awesome. A true patriotic event which says thank you for the service provided to this country by our vets! Parking is free at PTI for this event.

October 9th we’ll be participating with the State Highway Patrol in Operation “Faith and Blue.” This program connects law enforcement groups with area churches to reach out to the community. SHP contacted Life because of Got Your Six, and we are doing a joint Food Drive from 0900 to 1300 on the 9th in the parking lot of Life. We’ll put the GY6 tent up and collect food as folks come by and drop off their items. Troopers will be on hand to deliver the food to a local food bank. Would love to have help that morning setting up the tent and collecting the food.

October 15th is our October meeting. It’s a special night as we celebrate the two-year anniversary of Got Your Six and Triad Rally Point, along with celebrating Life becoming an Outpost for the National Program known as Mighty Oaks.
.

David Brendle is heading up a hotdog supper that evening beginning at 1800 with the program beginning around 1900. Our very own Air Force Lt. General Jim ‘Vech” Vechery will share the accomplishments we have witnessed over the past two years. This will be followed by a concert from the “Sons of Thunder,” a men’s choral group from right here in High Point. They will be performing a Patriotic performance along with Christian selections. We are inviting the entire church and hope to have a tremendous turnout that evening. Mark your calendar now.

Got Your Six Challenge coins. David Brendle has reached out to a company in Wilmington that is owned and operated by veterans and first responders to design and make a Got Your Six Challenge coin. Dave sent around a sign up sheet that night to see who was interested in purchasing a coin or coins. Over 600 coins were signed up for. Wow! The order is getting placed, and maybe with some serious prayer we could have them here for our October Anniversary celebration.
Finally, Aaron Campbell has been in contact with the new Sgt. Major at the Marine Reserve Center. We’ll be assisting with their Annual Toys for Tots Christmas program. This program was started by the Marine Corps Reserve in 1947. 16.5 million Americans went to war during World War II. Over 400,000 did not come home. This created many widows and fatherless children across the country, which also meant hard times for families at Christmas. The Marines began a toy drive to make sure these children had a great Christmas. We’ll be collecting new toys, and when the boxes get full, we’ll contact the reserve center, and they’ll come and pick them up.
A lot of things are happening with GY6, and just remember we are never more like Christ than when we serve. Just a quick reminder, participation is a lot more fun than observation. When you get involved and make great things happen, there is a joy and satisfaction that only comes from the Lord! Be a Difference Maker!
